- Is it worth buying Chinese winter tires?

Chinese winter tires are manufactured in factories in the PRC for the domestic market and export. China is today the world's largest tire manufacturer, producing over 900 million units annually. Of these, about 40% are exported to Europe, the USA, Africa and the CIS countries.
Thanks to cheap raw materials, large-scale production and state support, Chinese tires have become the main competitor in the middle segment. However, despite technological progress, even the best Chinese models do not reach the level of premium brands from Europe — Michelin, Continental, Nokian, Goodyear — and are even inferior to proven used tires from Europe, which can be found in the Eurowheel store.
The first large tire factories appeared in the 1980s. But the real breakthrough came after 2005, when Chinese manufacturers began to buy licenses and technologies from well-known brands. Today, the country has more than 300 factories, dozens of which belong to global corporations - Bridgestone, Michelin, Goodyear, Pirelli have their own branches there.
Most of the factories are located in the provinces of Shandong, Jiangsu, Hebei and Zhejiang. It is from there that such brands as Linglong, Triangle, Sailun, Goodride, Doublestar, Windforce, Westlake come from.
Chinese companies are actively introducing automation, intelligent quality control systems, 3D tread scanning, and already have ECE R117 certification - the EU standard for tires. However, their main strategy is still low price and high production volume, not maximum efficiency on ice.

The difference is obvious: for the same or lower price, used European tires from Eurowheels provide better handling, quieter ride and stability on ice.
Real examples of drivers
Ivan, Poltava:
“I bought Linglong, at first everything was fine, but after the second winter they started to harden. The next time I took used Goodyear from Eurowheels — they hold the road in a completely different way.”
Natalia, Chernivtsi:
“Sailun are normal for the city, but noisy. Used Michelin from Eurowheels — significantly more comfortable.”
The Chinese market has really made a big leap forward. The average Chinese winter tire has better balance, lower noise and a more modern tread pattern than the Ukrainian counterparts ROSAVA or Premiorri.
However, European brands, even after several seasons of use, have advantages:
Therefore, Chinese rubber is a compromise for those who want a new but inexpensive tire. If the main goal is safety and efficiency, the choice is obvious: European used rubber with Eurowheel.
1. Can you trust Chinese winter tires?
Yes, but you should only buy brands like Sailun, Linglong, Goodride - they are certified in the EU.
2. How much worse are they than European ones?
The braking distance is 5-8 m longer, the resource is 20-25% less.
3. Are Chinese tires noisy?
Yes, on average they are 2 dB louder than Nokian or Michelin.
4. Which type is better - studded or friction?
For the city - friction, for the north - studded.
5. Does it make sense to overpay for the Linglong brand?
Yes, it is the most stable manufacturer among the Chinese.
6. Why is European used rubber better than Chinese new?
Because of higher quality materials, higher technology and real safety tests.
7. How long does Chinese winter rubber last?
On average, 2-3 winters, after which it hardens.
8. Are Chinese tires suitable for SUVs?
Yes, but you should take the Sailun Ice Blazer WST3 SUV or Linglong Winter HP models.
9. Are there fake Chinese tires?
Yes, especially in the markets — you need to buy only from trusted sellers.
10. Where to buy an alternative to Chinese tires?
In the Eurokoleso store, where there is a huge selection of used European rubber.
Chinese winter tires have become better quality — they surpass Ukrainian counterparts, but are still inferior to European ones in terms of safety, noise and stability on ice. If you are looking for the optimal balance between price and quality, you should pay attention to used European tires from Eurowheels - this is real savings without compromise.
